Frequently Asked Questions
- Are waterproof dog bed covers machine washable?
Yes, most waterproof dog bed covers are designed for machine washability, making them easy to clean and maintain for a fresh and hygienic pet bed. Always adhere to the manufacturer’s specific care instructions, typically using a gentle cycle with mild detergent and avoiding bleach or fabric softeners, which can compromise the waterproof layer. Washing at temperatures between 50-60°C is recommended to eliminate bacteria and dust mites. - Do waterproof dog bed covers protect against odours?
These covers help prevent odors by stopping liquids and spills from penetrating the bed’s padding, a common source of lingering smells. Some covers feature antimicrobial or odor-resistant coatings for enhanced odor control. Regular cleaning of the cover is also vital for managing unpleasant odors. - How do I ensure a waterproof dog bed cover fits properly on my dog’s bed?
Accurate measurement of your dog’s bed is crucial before purchasing. Match your bed’s dimensions to the available size options. Covers with elasticized edges or adjustable straps offer a more secure fit. Customer reviews and product specifications can also guide your choice. Ensure the zipper is partially closed (about 30cm) before washing. Do not use solvents, bleach, or bleach alternatives, as they can damage the waterproof backing.

Washing Instructions
Wash and tumble dry with other linens. Failure to do so may cause blistering to the waterproof membrane. Before washing, close the zip to about 30cm. Do NOT use any solvents or bleach, bleach alternatives, non-chlorine bleach, or any bleach by-products in the detergent, as this will damage the polyurethane backing. Wash between 50 – 60°C to kill bacteria and dust mites.
