Tina Robinson: Head Trainer & Professional Rider
Tina Robinson embodies the spirit of excellence at Brookfield Equestrian Center as our Head Trainer and Professional Rider. Her lifelong dedication to equestrian sports began at the tender age of five, accumulating invaluable experience training under some of North America’s most renowned show jumping professionals, including George Morris, Stacia Madden, Melanie Smith-Taylor, and Kent Farrington. During her junior years, Tina consistently competed on the “AA” circuit, securing numerous victories in prestigious classes such as the ASPCA Maclay, USEF Medal, and USET Show Jumping Talent Search. These achievements consistently placed her among the top junior riders in North America, earning her invitations to major equitation finals for three consecutive years. Notably, Tina achieved 12th and 14th places out of over 90 competitors at the USET Show Jumping Talent Search Finals in 2012 and 2013.
Tina Robinson, Head Trainer
Upon turning professional at nineteen, Tina has dedicated herself to mastering all facets of the sport, with a strong focus on cultivating well-rounded, confident horsemen and women in her students. She firmly believes that a curious mind and a diverse skill set are paramount to achieving horsemanship excellence. Tina’s extensive study of Dressage and Biomechanics, including work with top professionals like Carol Lavell and Mary Wanless, has significantly enriched her training methodologies. Furthermore, she integrates principles of natural horsemanship, drawing from the work of John Lyons and Buck Brannaman, into the training of horses at all levels within the center. Her recent three-month tenure at the Winter Equestrian Festival, competing in the Open 1.40m jumper division under the mentorship of Olympian Leslie Burr-Howard, further honed her competitive edge and coaching insights.
Tina has a proven track record of coaching riders of all ages and skill levels to championship titles at some of the East Coast’s most prestigious competitions. While her personal aspirations lie in Grand Prix Show Jumping, her solid foundation in equitation has equipped her with the versatility to excel in coaching and riding across Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation, and Dressage. In the competitive arena, Tina is characterized by her intense focus, competitive drive, and unwavering determination. Off the horse, she is deeply passionate about sharing her extensive experience with riders who share her love for horses and possess a keen desire to learn about the sport. Tina takes immense pride in her constructive and positive teaching style, approaching each horse and rider with compassion and a deep understanding of their unique needs and preferences.
