Navigating life’s uncertainties can be challenging, and for devoted Fox Terrier owners, the thought of what might happen to their cherished companions if they are no longer able to care for them is a significant concern. Fox Terrier Rescue UK (FTR UK) offers a vital and compassionate service, providing a safety net for these beloved dogs through their “Forever Care” program. This initiative is designed to ensure that if an owner passes away or faces long-term hospitalization or illness, their Fox Terriers will be safely retrieved and cared for until they can be reunited with family or rehomed into loving environments.
Understanding the “Forever Care” Service
The core of FTR UK’s “Forever Care” service is to provide peace of mind to Fox Terrier owners. Upon request, the organization will supply cards with all their contact details for family, friends, or neighbors to use in case of an emergency. This ensures a swift response in retrieving the Fox Terrier(s) and placing them in a safe and happy environment. The service is entirely free and open to all Fox Terrier owners across the UK.
Immediate Support and Transport
Recognizing the urgency that can arise in such situations, FTR UK boasts a dedicated team of volunteers and an efficient transport system. They commit to picking up a Fox Terrier within 24 hours, or even sooner in emergency situations. This rapid response capability is crucial in minimizing distress for both the dog and the owner’s family. The primary contact for this service is Mrs. Lee England, who can be reached at 01366 328826 or 07885735044, or via email at leeengland24@yahoo.com.
The Mission and Operation of Fox Terrier Rescue UK
With a history spanning over 35 years, Fox Terrier Rescue UK has been dedicated to rescuing and re-homing Fox Terriers, often referred to affectionately as “foxy” or “foxy friends.” The organization operates on the compassionate principle that no healthy animal should be put to sleep. All dogs in their care are loved and looked after by a network of dedicated volunteers until they find their permanent, loving homes.
FTR UK is a non-political and non-campaigning entity, solely focused on the welfare of both Smooth and Wire Fox Terriers. As a non-governmental organization, it relies entirely on voluntary contributions to fund its operations. This financial independence allows them to focus exclusively on their mission. They frequently collaborate with other like-minded organizations and are often called upon to take in Fox Terriers from various rehoming centers.

The continued operation and success of FTR UK are made possible by the generosity of supporters. Donations are crucial for their work in caring for and re-homing these wonderful dogs.

All rescue dogs under FTR UK are insured with Agria Insurance, in partnership with The Kennel Club. This insurance covers dogs of any age without high premiums. As a benefit to adopters, four weeks of free insurance are provided when a dog is adopted from the rescue.
