About Brigadoon Farm
Brigadoon Farm is a premier facility specializing in raising, training, showing, and selling reining and cutting bred horses. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our breeding program, with many of our horses being born on-site, carrying generations of quality bloodlines. We utilize stallions who have produced over a million dollars in reining and cutting earnings, as well as our own promising young stallions for breeding. While our farm spans forty acres, we have access to thousands of surrounding acres for extensive training opportunities, including assisting neighbors with cattle. We pride ourselves on our unique approach, focusing on starting and breaking young colts with a mentoring style of training that empowers both horse and rider. We do not train outside horses or board them, maintaining a focused program on our own stock.
The Role of Horse Trainer
As a female horse trainer at Brigadoon Farm, you will play a crucial role in continuing our legacy of excellence. You should possess a strong background in handling young stock and starting/breaking colts. A key aspect of this role is the ability to teach both people and horses through a mentoring approach, fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment. Our current staff consists of responsible, young adults who are eager to expand their knowledge and skills in horse training. You will be responsible for their guidance and development within the training program. Responsibilities and Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a US citizen.
- Possess significant experience in starting and breaking young horses.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to train horses using a communication-based, non-domineering approach.
- Be adept at teaching riders and horses in a mentoring capacity.
- Have experience handling young stock.
- Be willing to mentor and guide our existing young staff.
