However, a close breeder friend entrusted me with a few shorthairs, and I discovered a surprising fondness for them. Beyond their reduced grooming needs, I found British Shorthair kittens to be exceptionally easygoing, well-mannered, and a genuine pleasure to live with. That said, long-haired British cats remain a significant part of my program, and like many of my adopters, I find myself still undecided on which coat length I prefer.
A primary objective in my British Shorthair breeding program has been to steer away from the breed’s occasional reputation for aloofness.
