This article provides updates and highlights key services offered by the MEA Staff Cooperative (สบฟ.), a cooperative serving employees of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA). It details recent events, new initiatives, and ongoing services designed to support MEA staff and their families.
Recent Events and Engagements
The MEA Staff Cooperative actively participates in significant events and initiatives. On August 15, 2025, the cooperative, in conjunction with the MEA State Enterprise Employees Savings Cooperative, had the honor of attending the opening ceremony of the Thai Electricity Museum. This event was presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and held at the MEA Wat Liab office.
The cooperative also organized a training session for vehicle drivers (Type 2) at the MEA Nonthaburi office. This training aims to enhance the skills and safety of drivers operating MEA vehicles. Additionally, MEA Staff Cooperative attended the MEA Retiree Party 2025, celebrating and honoring those who have dedicated their careers to the authority.
Membership and Services
The MEA Staff Cooperative (สบฟ.) continues to encourage MEA employees to become members. Those who register by February 28, 2025, are eligible to vote in elections and will receive a souvenir at the annual general meeting.
To further support its members, the cooperative has launched a car rental service. Members can rent vans for 1,500 Baht per day with a driver, or 1,000 Baht per day without a driver. Inquiries can be directed to Rachakorn Uykhum at 085-337-1497 during business hours.
Operational Updates
The Metropolitan Electricity Authority has implemented a new telephone system. Consequently, fax transmissions are no longer possible. Employees needing to submit documents such as attendance sheets or other paperwork should send them via email to coop.mea@gmail.com or via LINE to 085-337-1497.
Cooperative’s Role and History
The MEA Staff Cooperative was established with the goal of providing services to MEA employees and their families. It has played a significant role in supporting the authority by taking on outsourced service contracts, accounting for 25% of all tender bids since 2006.
The cooperative’s mission includes arranging administrative staff, service personnel, and drivers for the Metropolitan Electricity Authority.

- Current MEA employees
- Members of the MEA State Enterprise Employees Savings Cooperative
- Associate members
- Retained members
- Employees of the MEA Staff Cooperative itself
- Families of the above can apply as associate members.
About the MEA Staff Cooperative
The MEA Staff Cooperative (สบฟ.) has a history rooted in supporting MEA employees. Its governing body consists of a committee, and its operational reports are available for review.
The cooperative’s commitment extends to supporting children’s activities, as demonstrated by its contribution to a children’s day event organized in collaboration with the MEA State Enterprise Employees Union.
