Horse Valley Update: How to Get Magic Horses Through the New Elior Exchange

Horse Valley has recently received an exciting update, introducing new ways for players to acquire coveted magic horses. While a game pass and enhanced VIP rewards are part of this update, the most significant addition is the new NPC, Elior, and his unique horse exchange mechanic. This feature allows players to trade existing horses for a chance to obtain magic horses or other valuable steeds.

Understanding the Elior Exchange Mechanic

Elior, located directly across from the witches’ hut, offers a system where players can trade in their current horses to earn points. These points are then used to acquire new horses. The core requirement for initiating an exchange is accumulating at least 840 points from the horses you choose to trade in. It is crucial to understand that any horses traded in will be permanently lost, with no option for recovery. Therefore, players should only exchange horses they are willing to part with permanently.

Horse Worth and Point Values

The value of each horse breed in Horse Valley is fixed in terms of points, regardless of factors like breeding status, training level, age, or cosmetic dyes. The breed is the sole determinant of a horse’s point value. For instance, a highly trained and bred Morgan will yield the same points as a basic, untrained one.

Point values for different horse tiers are as follows:

  • 20 Points (1 star / tier 1): Morgan, Welsh Cob
  • 45 Points (2 stars / tier 2): Camarillo, Bashkir Curly, Quarter Horse, Mustang
  • 140 Points (3 stars / tier 3): Appaloosa, Paint Horse, Friesian, Thoroughbred, Irish Cob, Belgian Draft Horse, Fjord Horse, Haflinger
  • 280 Points (4 stars / tier 4): Clydesdale, Andalusian, Akhal Teke, Knabstrupper, American Miniature Horse, Shetland Pony, Arabian, Shire
  • 700 Points (Selected tier 5 / tier 5 crosses): Ghost, Nightmare, Dryad, Kelpie, Gingerbread Horse, Skeleton, Taurus, Lava Horse
  • 1000 Points (Remaining tier 5 horses): Cheese, Spirit, and all seven unicorns (Cinder, River, Leaf, Storm, Wildstar, Glacier, Ethera)

Cross-Breed Horses and Point Calculation

  • Version 2 (v2) cross-breed horses adopt the point value of their base breed.
  • Version 1 (v1) cross-breed horses only contribute points if they possess a complete number of stars, meaning they are not between two tiers. Players can easily check a horse’s star completion by hovering over it in their inventory. If any star is incomplete (half-filled), the horse will not award points.

Acquiring Magic Horses

The type of horse you receive from the exchange depends on the total points accumulated from your traded horses:

  • 840 – 1,000 Points: Exchanging horses within this point range will result in receiving a new horse that is at least a tier 4. This includes a randomized chance to obtain a tier 4 or a tier 5 (magic) horse.
  • Over 1,000 Points: If your accumulated points exceed 1,000, you are guaranteed to receive a tier 5, or magic, horse. Known obtainable magic horses include the Taurus and Lava Horse, with a possibility of acquiring Ghost, Nightmare, Dryad, or Kelpie.

Important Considerations for the Exchange

Players should be aware that horses in the 1000-point tier, which includes event-exclusive horses like unicorns and those from past events, are generally not recommended for exchange. These horses are often unbreedable and have been unavailable for a significant period. Trading them in will reduce their existing numbers in the game permanently. Furthermore, the horses obtained from the exchange often have a lower trade value compared to these rare, high-tier horses. It is often more beneficial to trade these high-value horses directly with other players in the trading hub, potentially acquiring horses with equivalent or greater point values.

This new mechanic offers a dynamic way for players to diversify their stables and pursue elusive magic horses within Horse Valley. Remember to carefully select the horses you wish to trade, considering their permanent loss, to maximize your chances of obtaining the desired magical steed.
